A B2B SEO agency is a firm that grows organic search for companies that sell to other businesses, and the good ones are judged on pipeline (demo requests, trials, qualified leads), not traffic. Specialist B2B agencies are expensive: Victorious tells prospects to budget at least $6,000 a month for 12 months, and Omniscient Digital's full-service engagements start at $120,000 a year. Across all industries, the average agency retainer is $3,209 a month, according to Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers.
Below: ten B2B SEO agencies worth a call, what each one says it does and charges, how B2B SEO differs from consumer SEO, and a checklist of questions to ask before you sign.
Key takeaways
- Shortlist agencies that specialise in your model (B2B SaaS, industrial, professional services) and can show case studies with pipeline numbers, not only traffic charts.
- Budget realistically: specialist B2B agencies publish minimums of $6,000/month (Victorious) to $120,000/year (Omniscient Digital). Agencies across all industries average $3,209/month (Ahrefs survey).
- B2B keywords have low volume and high value. A comparison or integration page that ranks for a query with 50 searches a month can be worth more than a blog post with 5,000.
- Expect slow months first. In Outrank's study of 2,119 sites, the median site was up 7% after 28 days of publishing, 27% after 84 days, and 2.0× by month seven.
- Walk away from guaranteed rankings, links priced per unit, and anyone who won't work from the data in your own Search Console.
What a B2B SEO agency does
A B2B SEO agency plans and runs search optimisation for a company with a business buyer: keyword and competitor research, technical fixes, content, link building and reporting, all aimed at leads that sales can close. On paper the work looks like any SEO agency's. Three things make it different in practice:
- Low-volume, high-value keywords. A niche query like "accounts payable automation for construction companies" might get a few dozen searches a month. If one of those searchers signs a five-figure contract, it beats a consumer keyword with thousands of searches. Good B2B agencies prioritise by buying intent, not volume.
- Bottom-of-funnel pages. Comparisons ("X vs Y"), alternatives, integrations, use cases, pricing explainers and ROI calculators do more for pipeline than top-of-funnel blog posts. Our guide to SEO keywords for software companies shows the patterns.
- Long sales cycles and buying committees. A buyer may read several of your pages over weeks before booking a demo. That makes attribution harder, so the agency should connect Search Console and analytics to your CRM instead of reporting on rankings.

1. Directive

Directive calls itself a B2B marketing agency and says it has served "ambitious B2B businesses since 2013". Its site groups clients into technology, industrial and services, and lists SEO and content next to paid media, paid social and revenue operations. Logos on the homepage include Calendly, ZoomInfo, SentinelOne and Gong. No pricing is published; you start with an intro call or an audit. Pick Directive if you want organic search planned together with paid acquisition and measured in pipeline.
2. Omniscient Digital
Omniscient Digital describes itself as an organic growth agency for B2B software companies, covering SEO strategy, answer engine optimisation, programmatic SEO, technical SEO, link building, digital PR and content production. Case studies on its site include Jasper, 360Learning, Smartling and OnBoard. It is one of the few B2B agencies that states a floor: full-service engagements start at $120,000 a year. That transparency saves everyone a call if your budget is smaller.
3. Animalz
Animalz positions itself as a content marketing and SEO agency for B2B SaaS brands, with programs for thought leadership (survey-driven whitepapers, LinkedIn), search and answer engine visibility, and content production. Client logos include Airtable, Intercom, Atlassian and Amplitude. No pricing on the site. A good fit when your category is crowded and the quality of the writing is what will set you apart.
4. Grow and Convert
Grow and Convert is known for "Pain Point SEO", which prioritises keywords by buying intent rather than search volume. That is exactly the trade-off B2B sites should make. It works with B2B, SaaS (self-serve and demo-based) and service companies, and now offers GEO and link building too. Pricing isn't published. Shortlist it if your blog gets traffic but no demos.
5. Skale
Skale is an organic growth agency for tech and SaaS companies that says it focuses on "SQLs, pipeline, and revenue over traffic and rankings". Services cover SEO strategy and execution, GEO, content, link building and site migrations. Testimonials on its site come from companies such as Slite, Holded, Maze and G2. No published pricing.
6. Powered by Search
Powered by Search bills itself as "The B2B Paid Ads and GEO Agency", with SEO, PPC, account-based marketing, HubSpot RevOps and SaaS web design. Logos include Elastic, Varonis and SentinelOne. It suits SaaS teams that want search, paid and marketing operations handled by one partner. No published pricing.
7. Siege Media

Siege Media now leads with "Full-service GEO", alongside SEO consulting, content marketing, digital PR and research reports. It isn't B2B-only, but its published case studies include B2B software brands such as Zendesk and Zapier. No pricing on the site. Consider it when you need a large volume of content and earned links, not optimisation of what you already have.
8. Victorious

Victorious is an SEO agency with a strong technical and enterprise practice, offering SEO, AEO, content, technical SEO, audits and migrations. Its case studies include GE Digital (ServiceMax) and SoFi. Its FAQ is refreshingly direct about cost: "we recommend budgeting at least $6,000 a month for SEO optimization services and committing to a 12-month campaign to start." A strong option for complex sites, migrations and technical clean-ups.
9. Walker Sands

Walker Sands is a B2B integrated marketing and PR agency. SEO and GEO sit alongside content planning, original research, sales enablement and earned media. Choose it if you want search visibility and PR coverage planned together, which helps B2B brands get mentioned by journalists and AI assistants alike. No published pricing.
10. Ignite Visibility

Ignite Visibility is a full-service digital agency with a B2B practice. Its site lists SEO and GEO, local SEO, digital PR, PPC, paid social, content, web design, email and CRO, with logos such as Dun & Bradstreet and Experian. It says it avoids long-term contracts and hidden fees, but doesn't publish prices. Best if you'd rather have one partner across every channel than a search specialist.

How much does a B2B SEO agency cost?
Most of the agencies above don't publish a price list, but three sources put a frame around it:
Monthly budget for SEO help, by source
Average freelancer retainer (Ahrefs)
$1,349
Average agency retainer (Ahrefs)
$3,209
Average consultant retainer (Ahrefs)
$3,250
Victorious recommended minimum
$6,000+
Omniscient Digital full-service minimum
$10,000+ ($120k/yr)
What pushes the price up for B2B:
- Content depth. Comparison pages, research reports and expert-led articles cost far more to produce than generic blog posts. If the agency writes them, most of your fee goes there.
- Technical complexity. Docs, app subdomains, international versions and migrations need senior technical SEO time.
- Links and PR. Earning coverage from industry publications is slow, manual work.
- Reach. Ahrefs found providers serving clients worldwide average $3,474 a month against $1,557 for local ones.
If those numbers are out of reach, a smaller generalist or a freelancer with B2B experience is a legitimate start. SE Ranking's survey of 260 agencies found 64% charge under $1,000 a month. Our guide to affordable SEO plans includes a calculator that turns any monthly fee into hours of actual work.
How to choose a B2B SEO agency
Google's own page on hiring an SEO is a good starting point: it says "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google" and suggests asking for examples of previous work, how they measure success and over what timeframe, and what experience they have in your industry. The checklist below adds the B2B-specific questions. Tick them off as you interview each agency.

Red flags
- Guaranteed rankings or traffic numbers. Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking.
- Links sold by the unit. "20 DA 50+ links a month" usually means paid placements, which Google's link spam policy targets.
- Reports without Search Console data. Rankings for hand-picked keywords are easy to make look good.
- No questions about your sales process. An agency that doesn't ask about deal size, sales cycle and ideal customer will optimise for traffic.
- Unsolicited outreach promising page one. Google specifically warns about SEO firms that email you out of the blue.
Agency, in-house or software?
An agency isn't the only way to run B2B SEO. The right choice depends on your budget and what's missing:
| Option | Typical cost | Best when | Weak spot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Specialist B2B agency | $6,000 to $10,000+ a month | You need strategy, content, technical work and links at once | Price, and you still need internal reviewers |
| Generalist agency or freelancer | $1,000 to $3,500 a month | A defined scope: technical clean-up, on-page work, a set number of articles | Less B2B judgment on keyword choice |
| In-house SEO lead | A full-time salary plus tools | SEO is a core channel and you want the knowledge to stay | One person can't do everything |
| Software that does the execution | About $99 a month per site | You know your market and need consistent publishing | You supply the strategy and the review |
The last row is where Outrank fits. It researches keywords your site can rank for, writes and publishes 30 long articles a month to your CMS, and builds backlinks through its exchange, for $99 a month per site. It doesn't run your positioning, interview your customers or handle a migration, so many B2B teams pair it with an in-house marketer or a consultant who owns the strategy.
In Outrank's study of 2,119 sites, 79% of B2B services sites grew their Google clicks, with the median going from 124 to 389 clicks per 28 days; among SaaS and tech sites, 70% grew, from a median of 265 to 765. Those are observational medians, not promises: about a quarter of all sites in the study lost clicks.
Agencies use software like this too. If you run an agency, Outrank's agency plans take 10% to 20% off the per-site price as you add client sites.
What results to expect from B2B SEO, and when
Agree on expectations before the contract, because B2B SEO is slow at the start and compounds later. A realistic plan looks like this:
- Months 1 to 3: technical fixes, the first new and refreshed pages, impressions rising. Leads rarely change yet.
- Months 4 to 6: pages reach the top 10 for long-tail and comparison queries, and the first organic demos show up.
- Months 7 to 12: compounding. In Outrank's study, the median site went from +7% after 28 days to +27% after 84 days to 2.0× its baseline clicks by month seven.
Measure it on non-brand clicks from Search Console, organic conversions in your CRM and pipeline influenced, and plan in 90-day cycles. Our SEO strategy template gives you a format to hold any agency to.
FAQ
What does a B2B SEO agency do?
A B2B SEO agency researches the searches your business buyers make, fixes technical issues on your site, creates or optimises pages such as comparisons, use cases and guides, earns links from relevant sites, and reports how organic search contributes to leads and pipeline. The good ones connect their reporting to your CRM instead of stopping at rankings.
How much does a B2B SEO agency cost?
Specialist B2B SEO agencies usually cost $6,000 to $10,000 or more a month: Victorious recommends budgeting at least $6,000 a month for 12 months, and Omniscient Digital's full-service engagements start at $120,000 a year. Across all industries, Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers puts the average agency retainer at $3,209 a month.
How is B2B SEO different from B2C SEO?
B2B SEO targets fewer searches with much higher value per lead, longer sales cycles and several decision-makers. That shifts the work toward bottom-of-funnel pages (comparisons, integrations, use cases, ROI tools), expert content that builds trust, and measurement in pipeline rather than traffic or online sales.
How long does B2B SEO take to work?
Expect about three slow months while technical fixes and new pages get indexed, first leads around months four to six, and compounding after that. In Outrank's study of 2,119 sites, the median site was up 27% after 84 days of publishing and at 2.0× its starting clicks by month seven.
Should we hire a B2B SEO agency or build in-house?
Hire an agency when you need several skills at once (strategy, content, technical, links) and don't have them in the team; build in-house when SEO is a core channel you want to own long term. Many B2B companies combine an in-house lead with an agency or software for execution.
What questions should I ask a B2B SEO agency before hiring?
Ask for case studies with pipeline numbers from companies like yours, who will work on your account, what they'll do in the first 90 days, how they'll attribute leads to organic search, and who owns the content and data if you leave. Treat any guarantee of rankings as a reason to walk away.
